Irish & Ilongga Divas @ JMNHS

Ilongga Divas-Sheila Barrios, Irish D. and Cherry Callao were invited to perform their Ilonggo hit singles at Jalandoni Memorial National High School during their Acquaintance Party last July 29, 7PM. Special thanks to the teachers and students. They promised to invite the 3 Ilonggo pop artists in their future events. Guest rap group urban Mobztaz performed their songs at the event. This is their second Campus Tour that will go on in different schools and universities in the coming months to promote their upcoming show at Plazuela de Iloilo on August 26 and compilation album “Ilonggo Pop.”

Irish with Ilongga Divas @ Jaro National High School

Ilongga Divas Sheila Barrios, Irish D. and Cherry Callao once again proved their charm and talent onstage with their pop show at Jaro National High School last July 22, 2011 from 6PM onwards. The Ilonggo pop singers were invited by the faculty and staff to have a full show of pure Ilonggo music as part of their acquaintance party celebration. Sheila Barrios performed her massively hit song “Ginpalangga” and “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” where almost all the students got mesmerized by her soulful voice. Irish D. sang her two Ilonggo singles “Ikaw” and “Pano Na” where she proved her star power onstage. Cherry Callao sang her Ilonggo singles “Ikaw Guid Lang” and “Kasubo” with all the boys and girls got touched by the message of her songs. Zpinx Angel of Mix Ilonggo crew performed his song “Padayon” with Sheila Barrios and a solo rap song. Urban Mobztaz, a pure Ilonggo rap group also performed 5 of their original rap songs onstage. Ilonggo rapper Ezzy performed his dance single “E-shembot,” a collaboration with Reyn Callao. The divas finally performed the song “Aton Manggad,” the theme song of Sinadya sa Suba Iloilo River Festival. The students screamed a lot and enjoyed the show of pure Ilonggo talents.

Ilongga Divas are scheduled to perform at Plazuela de Iloilo for a pure Ilonggo artist concert on August 26, 2011.

Irish @ Ilongga Divas’ music and advocacy

According to Webster, a diva is defined as a “glamorous and popular female pop singer or personality.” With the recent popularity of Ilonggo music and artists in the local pop music, three unique pop voices were heard in FM stations with their heart-warming songs and became instant sensations both in Iloilo, Bacolod City and as far as Rockhampton City, Queensland, Australia. These local recording artists are Sheila Barrios, Irish D. and Cherry Callao dubbed as Ilongga Divas. 18-year-old pop songstress Sheila Barrios whose popularity started with her unexpected hit songs “Ginpalangga” and “Sa Handum Na Guid Lang” since last year has gained prominence in the local music scene. 16-year-old Irish D. is a young diva who recently released her first single “Ikaw” believes she’s got what it takes to be an Ilonggo pop singer by winning several singing contests. 18-year-old Cherry Callao is not just a sexy diva but her popular singles “Ikaw Guid Lang” and “Kasubo” is a proof of her talent. They are also the voices the track “Aton Manggad, the theme song of “Sinadya sa Suba” Iloilo River Festival and Run for Iloilo River by JCI Metro Iloilo Dinagyang last May.

Under the management team of RSLPhoenix Music, these three Ilongga pop divas recently staged a successful mini-concert at Gaisano City Events Center last July 16, 2011 from 2:30-5:00PM. They performed their original Ilonggo songs and selected English cover songs to an enthusiastic crowd. Ilonggo rap group Urban Mobztaz, rappers Zpinx Angel of Mix Ilonggo Crew and Ezzy are guest artists of the show. Before the show ended, they performed “Aton Manggad” as a song to inspire Ilonggos to protect and save Iloilo River.

The event is organized by RSLPhoenix Music in cooperation with JCI Metro Iloilo Dinagyang and Phil Nihon Jinzai Hakken Foundation. Co-presented by University of Iloilo-PEN, Hi-World Consultancy, Captain Dads Resto, itravel Philippines, Akon Salon by R-quim Empedrad and M.I.C Muzik. Irish D. @ Ilongga Divas live in Gaisano City

Spreading cultural pride through Ilonggo music with a significant purpose, the trio of local recording artists Sheila Barrios, Irish D. and Cherry Callao will stage a unique pop show with social advocacy entitled “Ilongga Divas 4 Iloilo River” on July 16, 2011, 2:30-4PM at Gaisano City Events Center. The event will continue the Iloilo River Project: 1-Million Signature Campaign. The artists will perform “Aton Manggad” the “Sinadya sa Suba” Iloilo River festival theme song live onstage. Different schools and universities will be invited to watch this free show that will highlight the best of Ilonggo music. Each of these Ilongga divas has their own respective solo singles playing in various FM stations in Iloilo and Bacolod City. Sheila Barrios popular songs are “Ginpalangga” and “Sa Handum na Guid Lang,” Irish D. single is “Ikaw” while Cherry Callao has two singles “Ikaw Guid Lang” and “Kasubo.” The event promises to be a two-hour spectacle of non-stop live performances of Ilonggo music and English cover songs with guest Ilonggo artists and dancers from the University of Iloilo will also perform onstage. The artists will promote their compilation album CD entitled Ilonggo Pop and will give-away CDs of Iloilo River song.
